One Year Later…
The areas struck by the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disasters in 2011 are slowly recovering. It is still hard for the survivors whose livelihoods were washed away. Some towns will never be repopulated. In others, there groups of citizens and volunteers banding together to make life better. Your assistance and donations are still welcomed and needed as recovery efforts evolve into rebuilding and renewing the north-east coast of Japan.

Please Donate
Every hooper in Japan feels connected to the Tohoku disasters and we all have been helping in our own ways: some have volunteered in the affected areas, others have donated profits from their hooping ventures, collected goods, and run fundraisers.
The Japan Tricks Showcase has allowed us to come together in a positive way as a community to reach out for help beyond our local scope. This video is an appeal to you and to all hoopers internationally. Please donate what you can to support efforts to rebuild northern Japan. Any amount is gratefully accepted and your generosity is deeply appreciated.
We believe all of the charities listed below are doing good work and deserve your support. You can click through the Donate links to reach each group’s donations page where all accept PayPal or credit card donations.
Peace Boat has been aiding Ishinomaki since the beginning. They continue to help the recovery in the area. Several people in our hooping community have participated in their project. Donate to Peace Boat.
Tohoku Kids Project supports children orphaned by the disaster. This is a joint project between two groups that our hooping community has worked with before: Living Dreams and Smile Kids. Donate to Tohoku Kids.
Japan EQ Animal Rescue and Support rescues and supports animals in crisis. They are caring for pets abandoned and orphaned in the disaster and trying to save pets in the nuclear exclusion zone, too. Donate to JEARS.
ETIC sponsors and trains young entrepreneurs to start up businesses in Tohoku. Donate to their Fellows program.
