「年を描く」ワックショップ。今年の個人的なイベントの絵を描いてしましょう！

始めは２０１５のハイライトを考えいていまし、ハイライトのイメージを描いています。様々な技術をしようとします。経験は不要! 材料が提供さ。自分の使用する写真や記念品などのアイテムを持参してください。

It’s the end of the year and a good time to review all the good (and bad) things that happened to you. Let’s draw the highlights of our year in a fun hour-long workshop on December 23rd.

First we’ll list the top things that happened in 2015 and maybe a few of the bottom things, too. Then we’ll draw how they made us feel, think or act. We will try collage, crayon, realistic drawing, and abstraction. You’ll go home with a memory drawing.

No experience required. Suitable for everyone who can remember their year. Bring yourself and a happy attitude. Optional: your diary, printed photos (for collage), or other mementoes. Paper, pens, pencils, scissors and glue provided.

New Moon Workshops

Family Fun workshops on the New Moon! Tink will lead a mix of circus, hooping, juggling, yoga, dance, art and other fun activities in November 12 and December 23. One hour workshop, 500 yen/person.

There’s a New Moon Organic Cafe and Market event, awanova, just up the road from Satoyama Design Factory which is perfect for a tasty lunch or snack after the workshop!

Corporate Circus Play

I recently conducted circus workshops and stretching sessions at a tech conference in Bangalore. You can read all about it on my personal website.

One of the most under-served populations I work with are grown-ups. Everyone expects kids to love circus classes, and they do, but they don’t need them like grown-ups do. I find that adults with high-pressure jobs and busy lives don’t often let themselves play and be silly. I love to give them a moment to try something new, step outside their usual routine and even laugh their failure to perform a trick.

Hoop Class in Bangalore

Here’s a peek at the culmination of a 90 minute hoop class at Cubbon Park in Bangalore on July 11th. We learned over 20 tricks, explored dance movement and transitions and then put our lessons together into a simple sequence. This was a fun class with great people and I hope to come back to Bangalore to teach again soon.

Byrd School

Today I had the pleasure of doing a school show at a charming 35 student Navy school that is being consolidated as their base closes. Our hour of performance and play time went in the blink of the eye. To all the Byrd Penguins, I hope you all enjoy becoming Ikego Fireflies next semester.

Check out the beautiful “Thank You Spin Matsuri” banner that one of the teachers created for the stage. I have never been so sweetly welcomed.

Malcolm Stuart Hoop Jam

Malcolm Stuart visited Japan for a vacation, so Tink hosted a hoop jam that turned into an impromptu workshop. Thanks to everyone who came to Yoyogi Park to meet Malcolm and especially the crew who drove in overnight from Osaka. That’s true fan dedication.

Super big hoop hugs to Malcolm for being flexible and switching from jamming to teaching when everyone was too shy to hoop with him. 🙂 He’s a huge hero and inspiration here and everyone seemed a little star-struck.

Hoop Jam with Malcolm Stuart

Malcolm Stuart is in Tokyo, fresh from Sacred Circularities in Bali. We’re getting together at Yoyogi Park this Sunday, May 11,  for a hoop jam. It’s a great chance to play and hoop and enjoy the fine spring weather together. (Please note this is not a workshop.)

Sunday, May 11 from 11am – 2 pm at Yoyogi Park in “the usual place” in the grass near the Harajuku gates. Please bring your own hoop – mine got destroyed at Guru-guru Camp.
